Open World Social

A place to practise being human.

Shared experiences that widen curiosity, expression, courage and connection. Meet other adventurers and make friends by doing something worth remembering.

The weekly practice

Flight Club

“What strange thing are we going to do this week?”

Flight Club is the easiest way in. Each gathering is one experiment in human possibility, drawing on improvisation, movement, sensory exploration, communication, collaborative invention and real-world quests.

It is a third space beyond home and work: somewhere to belong, play and become capable of more.

What to expect at Flight Club

Ways to take part

Choose your depth.

From a first encounter to a sustained practice. You can stay at any of these for as long as it is useful.

In a group

Workshops and intensives

Creative expression and embodiment workshops, usually a few hours long.

The Cycle of Aliveness is the longer form: a day moving through inner connection, embodiment, social story, aesthetics and the sacred, following the potential of the people in the room.

One to one

Coaching and guided quests

Coaching brings the practice to your own questions, transitions and aspirations, and connects reflection with action.

Guided quests and expeditions take the work into the world, where unfamiliar conditions become part of the learning.

From anywhere

Online Questsetting

Facilitated online groups for people setting and undertaking their own quests between sessions.

Structured questing courses and cohorts are being developed for delivery online.

Community

Kaleidoscopes

A Kaleidoscope is a local group that keeps practising and creating together. Anyone can start one. They form without permission and direct their own practice.

They let the work accumulate between events, so that a town has its own encounters, quests and shared experiences whether or not anyone from Open World is visiting.

Open World can support a Kaleidoscope with starter material and host support. It does not monitor or accredit how a group trains.

Going further

From a night out to a training.

People who want more than a weekly session can train through the Orbits, Open World’s full curriculum. Nobody has to. You can come to Flight Club for years and never take a course.
