Research Question
What helps human possibility become actual?
The central inquiry of Open World: how something moves from could be into is, and what people can do to help.
Context
Every part of Open World's work returns to this question. Social practice, performance, leadership work and questing are different settings in which the same thing is being watched: a possibility that was not available a moment ago becomes available, and sometimes someone acts on it.
The wager behind the question is that, inside real constraints such as bodies, consequences, other people and chance, there is far more unrealised human possibility than habit and social convention usually reveal.
How the question is divided
The research separates the question into three connected territories, each with its own question.
- Ecology of Possibility: what could happen here?
- Ecology of Eclosion: how does something cross into actuality?
- Ecology of Realities: what kinds of lived realities actually appear?
The working loop
Possibility, eclosion, reality, consequence, new possibility. Each realised possibility changes what is possible next.
Evidence and limitations
- This is a framing question, not a finding. The loop is a research framework, not settled science.
- The supporting material so far is practice-led: facilitated Labs, field experiments and the founder's own observation over many years. Structured, comparable field records are still being built.
